 Description

Nautical group excursion, to discover the Aeolian islands, including their sea and volcanoes. The Aeolian Islands, included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list for their volcanic phenomena, are located north of the coast of Sicily, in the Mediterranean Sea. They have two active volcanoes: Stromboli and Vulcano. You will leave from the port of Cefalù at 08.00 am to reach Rinella-Salina at 10:15 a.m. Rinella is a village of fishermen unique because of its charm and the landscape. It is one of the most scenic locations thanks to the black sand beach shaped a like a crescent surmounted by the caves dug into the rock. Salina is the greenest of the Aeolian Islands, also famous because it was the film set of the movie "Il Postino" (Radford-Troisi, 1994), Colorful fishing boats on pebble beaches, hills covered with wild capers and malvasia wine grapes. Paradise for snorkelers who will also observe volcanic activities (sconcassi). Departure from Salina at 11:45 am. Arrival on Vulcano at 12.15 a.m. Once called “Therasia”, this island offers a really breath-taking landscape, with the “Sabbie Nere” beach, thus named for its volcanic sand. In Vulcano you will have free time to visit the island and have lunch in one of its main typical restaurants. Here, just like in Lipari, you can choose how to spend your free time: you can walk along the beach, leaving your footprints in the black sand, reach sulphurous mud sites or climb the crater of the volcano. The tour of the mud sites and the climb to the crater of the volcano are not included in the price. Departure from Vulcano 02:30 p.m. arrival on Lipari at the port of Marina Corta at 02.45 p.m. Lipari, modelled by the volcanic activity of twelve craters, is characterised by a mountainous landscape with a jagged coastline. The old town is located at the foot of the majestic fortress of the Castle. Corso Vittorio Emanuele, known simply as “Il Corso”, and Via Garibaldi are characterised by typical bars and restaurants, serving, among other things, local desserts, such as the “Nacatole”, stuffed with almonds or pistachios. In Lipari you will have free time to visit the old town, walk along Corso Vittorio Emanuele and go shopping. You can also visit the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew, the Archaeological Park and the Regional Archaeological Aeolian Museum “Luigi Bernabò”. You can also choose to dive into the crystal clear waters of Lipari. Moreover, at an additional cost and with direct payment, you can take a guided bus tour of the island, lasting about an hour and a half. You will leave from the port of Marina Lunga and you will stop at the viewpoint known as Quattrocchi, to admire the island of Vulcano and the Faraglioni rocks in Lipari. You will continue along the north-west side of the island to reach Piano Conte, a breath-taking panoramic spot overlooking Salina island. The, you will reach Acquacalda and, finally, you will stop at the Cave di Pomice. Your tour will end at the port of Marina Lunga, after passing by the famous Canneto beach, awarded the Blue Flag. You will leave at 05:30 pm to get back to Cefalù at about 07:15 p.m.
